About Us
Trinity Child Development Center (TCDC) is a mission of Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 5613 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. The Center creates a Christian atmosphere where each child experiences being loved, accepted and cared for as an individual. Opportunities are made for each child to grow and develop at their own pace intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
TCDC is rated a “three-star” program by the Sate of Tennessee.
The Center has a program for children 6 weeks old to pre-kindergarten that operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and an after-school program for kindergarten through 5th grade that is open till 6 p.m. During the summer, TCDC operates an all-day program for all children 6 weeks through fifth grade.
TCDC does provide care for in-service days and most school holidays.
TCDC engages children with “hands on” activities while incorporating a Christian curriculum. The curriculum is age-appropriate with activities that promote fine/gross motor skills; social skills; factual knowledge and spiritual growth. In addition to lesson plans, each classroom is equipped with Activity Centers that enable children to learn independently through play. The Centers consist of blocks; dramatic play; music; art; writing/language; science and reading. Lunches and snacks are provided daily.

How to Apply
Parents who are interested in enrolling their child into the program are required to tour the facility and review the parent handbook with either the director or assistant director. Call (865) 588-6833 or fill out the Admission Inquiry form to get the process started.
Before a child may begin attending, the following paperwork must be completed:
1. Enrollment application and agreement to center policies must be completed
2. A current health record including an up to date immunization record and physical must be received from either the health department or pediatrician.
3. Enrollment Fees must be paid
Enrollment priority is given to members of Trinity UMC, staff of TCDC, and siblings of families currently enrolled in the program. Otherwise, openings in the program are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If space is not immediately available, parents may choose to place their child’s name on a waiting list.

Registration
Once a spot is available for admission, a registration fee is required by the enrolling family. The fee is to be provided before the child starts at TCDC and covers the child from September 1st to Augutst 31st. The registration fee is non-refundable. Early registration for fall occurs annually, usually in April, and the registration fee is due at that time to guarantee a spot. Failure to pay the registration fee will result in loss of an enrollment spot for the fall.
A discount applies to families with multiple children, in that familes are only required to pay one annual registration fee (not a per child fee).
There is a different registration fee for School-Age Summer only care, due at the time of enrollment at the beginning of the summer.
A Mat fee is also required for All-Day care, ages 12 months to 5 years. This fee is to be paid with the registration fee. Regulation sized mats are required by DHS for nap time. The purchased mat becomes property of the child to keep and moves up with the child as they move through the program. If a mat becomes worn or ripped, it may have to be replaced. If you child leaves the program, the mat may be taken home at that time.
